WordPress plugin

A WordPress donation plugin that keeps the heavy lifting off your site

Add a block or a shortcode and your WordPress site shows a fast, branded donation form. Payments, receipts, donor records and QuickBooks run on DonorFinch — not inside your WordPress database.

What you get

  • Gutenberg block and a [donorfinch] shortcode; inline form or a Donate button that opens a popup
  • Works with any theme and with Elementor, Divi and other builders via the shortcode
  • Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link and US bank transfers through your own Stripe account
  • Monthly and yearly giving with retries, card-update links and a donor portal — no premium add-on
  • Numbered PDF tax receipts emailed instantly; thank-you letters and year-end statements included
  • Pre-select an amount, frequency or fund per page; your site is registered as an allowed website automatically
  • No monthly fee and no license renewals — 1.5% per gift plus Stripe. See pricing

How it works

Three steps, no developer

The plugin connects with a site key from your DonorFinch settings. Nothing else to configure in WordPress.

  1. Step 1: Upload the plugin

In DonorFinch open Settings → Website and download donorfinch.zip. In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, install and activate.
  2. Step 2: Connect with a site key

Create a site key in DonorFinch (Settings → Website), paste it into Settings → DonorFinch in WordPress and click Connect. Your published forms appear in the dropdown.
  3. Step 3: Add the block or shortcode

Insert the DonorFinch Donation Form block and pick a form, or paste [donorfinch form="general"] anywhere. Publish.

Questions

Common questions

How is this different from GiveWP or Charitable?
Those plugins run the donation system inside your WordPress database: forms, donor records and receipts all live on your web host, and features such as recurring giving and fee recovery are typically premium add-ons licensed yearly. DonorFinch's plugin is a thin connector: the form, payments, receipts, donor database and QuickBooks sync run on DonorFinch, so your site stays fast, nothing sensitive sits in WordPress, and everything is included for one per-gift fee.
What does the WordPress donation plugin cost?
The plugin is free. DonorFinch has no monthly fee and charges 1.5% per online gift plus Stripe's processing fee (2.2% + 30¢ for registered 501(c)(3)s). Recurring giving, fee recovery, receipts and the donor CRM are all included — no add-on licenses.
Does it work with page builders like Elementor or Divi?
Yes. Use the DonorFinch Donation Form block in the block editor, or the [donorfinch form="general"] shortcode anywhere a shortcode is accepted: classic editor, widgets, Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder and most themes.
Can I show a Donate button that opens a popup instead of an inline form?
Yes. Set the block to button mode, or use mode="button" in the shortcode with your own label. You can also pre-select an amount, a frequency (once, monthly, yearly) or a fund.
Is it secure? Does card data touch my WordPress site?
No. The form is served by DonorFinch and payments are handled by Stripe; card numbers never pass through your server or ours. Only websites you approve can display your forms, and the plugin registers your site automatically when you connect it.
Can I move from another WordPress donation plugin?
Export your donors and donations as CSV from your current plugin and import them into DonorFinch; the importer matches columns and flags duplicates. Then replace the old form with the DonorFinch block or shortcode.
