Donors can cover the fees
Every form has a “cover processing fees” checkbox. When a donor ticks it, the fees are added on top so your organization nets the full gift.

Questions
Pricing questions, answered
- Is there really no monthly fee?
- Correct. You create an account, connect Stripe, and pay nothing until a donation comes in. The 1.2% platform fee is deducted automatically from each online gift, so there is never an invoice to pay.
- Where does the money go?
- Straight to your organization's own Stripe account and from there to your bank on Stripe's normal payout schedule. DonorFinch never holds your funds.
- Do I need a Stripe account?
- Yes. If you already have one you can connect it in a minute; if not, you create one during setup. Stripe handles identity checks and bank details.
- How do I get Stripe's nonprofit rate?
- Registered 501(c)(3) organizations that receive most of their volume as donations can apply to Stripe for the discounted rate. Until it is approved, Stripe charges its standard rate. Either way, DonorFinch's fee stays the same.
- What about refunds?
- When you refund a gift, DonorFinch returns its platform fee for the refunded portion. Stripe's processing fee follows Stripe's refund policy.
- Are checks, cash and imported gifts charged a fee?
- No. Gifts you record by hand or import from a spreadsheet are free; the platform fee applies only to online payments processed through DonorFinch.
