Bank deposits for checks and cash
Group recorded checks and cash into deposit batches that match your bank slip and sync to QuickBooks.

Online gifts arrive in your bank as Stripe payouts, which DonorFinch tracks automatically. Checks and cash you take to the bank yourself need one step: a deposit batch.
Create a batch
- Open Bank deposits and click New deposit.
- You'll see every recorded check/cash/other gift not yet in a batch. Tick the ones going to the bank together.
- Enter the deposit date and (optionally) the bank's deposit slip reference.
- Save. The batch total should equal your deposit slip; if not, a gift is missing or mis-entered.
Finance, Admin and Owner roles can create batches.
What a batch does
- Shows as a row in the Deposits report alongside Stripe payouts, so the report mirrors your bank statement line for line.
- Syncs to QuickBooks as one Deposit on the mapped bank account, split by fund, if QBO is connected.
- Locks the gifts' amounts and dates (edit the batch first if you need to change one).
Editing
Open a batch to add or remove gifts or change the date until it has synced to QuickBooks. After sync, DonorFinch won't re-push changes; fix the QBO entry by hand.
Gifts that don't belong in a batch
In-kind gifts and soft credits don't involve money and never appear in the batch picker. Card or bank-transfer gifts you recorded by hand (historical, processed elsewhere) can be batched if they hit your bank directly, or left out if they came through another processor's payout.
