Every organization starts with one donation form. You can edit it, add more (one per campaign, for example), and preview changes live as you make them.

Open the form builder

  1. Click Donation forms in the sidebar.
  2. Open your form. The builder has tabs across the top and a live preview on the right.

Basics

  • Form name (for you) and Link (the slug in the page address).
  • Gifts go to: the default fund for this form.
  • Campaign (optional): every gift from this form counts toward it.
  • Thank-you message: shown on the confirmation screen and in the receipt email.
  • After giving, send donors to (optional): a page on your site to redirect to after a gift.

Amounts & frequency

  • Up to 8 preset amounts; star one as the default. Defaults are $25 / $50 / $100 / $250.
  • Allow any amount adds an "Other" box. Set a minimum gift if you want (at least $1).
  • Frequencies: One-time, Monthly, Yearly. Pick which to offer and which is selected first. Offering monthly by default is the single biggest thing you can do for recurring revenue.
  • Pre-check "cover processing fees": when on, donors see the fee-cover box already ticked; they can untick it. Most organizations leave this on. See How donors cover fees.

Donor options

  • Let donors choose a fund: shows a designation menu.
  • Offer "in honor / in memory of": tribute gifts with an optional notification email to the honoree's family.
  • Ask for mailing address and Ask for phone number.
  • Offer "keep my name private": donors can give anonymously; your staff still see who gave.

Questions

Add up to 10 custom questions: short answer, paragraph, dropdown or checkbox, each optionally required. Answers appear on the gift record. See Custom questions.

Appearance

Accent color, card background, text color, corner roundness, headline, short description and button text. You can hide your organization name on the form (useful when it's embedded under your own heading) and turn the small "Powered by DonorFinch" line on or off.

Publish

Use the Publish / Take offline toggle at the top. A form that's offline shows a "not available" notice at its link; past gifts are untouched.

Your hosted page is at https://app.donorfinch.com/give/<your-url-name>/<form-link>. Share it directly, or put the form on your own site: Install the form on your website.
