Signing in with email links
No passwords. How sign-in links work, how long they last, and what to do when one doesn't arrive.

DonorFinch has no passwords. Enter your email at app.donorfinch.com/login, click the link we send, and you're in.
How it works
- Each link is single-use and expires after 15 minutes.
- Once signed in, you stay signed in on that browser for 30 days of activity, so you won't be asked every day.
- Sign out from the menu under your name; that ends the session on that browser only.
- Donors use the same method at a separate address, app.donorfinch.com/account.
The link didn't arrive
- Check spam and promotions folders. The sender is
no-reply@donorfinch.com. - Make sure you typed the email address your invitation was sent to. A different alias (
jane@vsjane.doe@) is a different account. - Wait a minute and request again; the newest link is the valid one, older ones stop working.
- Workplaces with strict email filtering sometimes delay or strip links. Ask IT to allow
donorfinch.com, or try a personal device first to confirm the account works.
"This link has expired or already been used"
Request a new one. Some email apps and security scanners "pre-open" links, which can use up a link before you click. If this keeps happening, open the email in a different app or forward it to a personal address.
Changing your email address
Ask an Owner or Admin to invite your new address to the organization, accept it, then have them remove the old one. (Your past actions stay in the audit log under the old address.)
Staff who leave
An Owner or Admin removes them under Settings → Team. Their sessions end immediately.
Why no passwords?
Nothing to reuse, leak, or forget, and your email account is almost certainly better protected than a password would be. Turn on two-factor authentication on your email account; that protects DonorFinch too.
