Receipts & year-end statements
Resend or download a receipt
Re-email a donor's tax receipt, download the PDF, or point donors to their own portal.

Receipts are issued automatically when a gift succeeds, numbered sequentially (R-000123), and stored as PDFs. If a donor says theirs never arrived, there are three options.
Option 1: Resend from the gift
- Open Gifts and find the gift (search by donor name, exact amount, or check number).
- Click Resend receipt. The same receipt PDF is emailed again to the donor's address on file.
If the donor's email was wrong, first fix it on the donor record under Donors, then resend.
Option 2: Download the PDF
On the gift page, click the receipt number to download the PDF. You can then attach it to your own email or print it.
Option 3: Point the donor to their portal
Donors can sign in at app.donorfinch.com/account with the email they gave with. Their portal lists every receipt and year-end statement from every organization they support on DonorFinch, as downloadable PDFs. See The donor portal.
Why a receipt might be missing
- The gift is from an import. Imported gifts never generate receipts; your old system already thanked those donors. Year-end statements will include them.
- Receipt was turned off when the gift was recorded by hand (the "Send a receipt" box was unticked).
- The gift hasn't succeeded yet. Bank transfers (ACH) take a few days to settle; the receipt is sent when the money clears.
- The email bounced or went to spam. Ask the donor to check spam and add
no-reply@donorfinch.comto their contacts, then resend.
Correcting a receipt
Receipts are never edited. If the amount changes (a refund) a corrected receipt is issued automatically and the old one is voided. If the donor's name or address was wrong, fix the donor record; the correction appears on their next receipt and on the year-end statement.
