Everyone gets their own login (an email link, no shared passwords) and a role that decides what they can do.
Needs the Invite and remove teammates permission: Admin or Owner.
Invite someone
- Open Settings → Team and click Invite.
- Enter their email and pick a role:
| Role | Good for | Can |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | The director, the board treasurer | Full access, including billing and deleting the organization. |
| Admin | Development director, office manager | Manage donors, gifts, forms, team and settings. |
| Finance | Bookkeeper, accountant | View everything; manage gifts, refunds, receipts, statements, deposits and QuickBooks. |
| Staff | Program staff, volunteers | Manage donors, record gifts, send thank-yous. No settings or money movement. |
| Read only | Board members | View only. |
- Send the invitation. They get an email with a link that expires in 7 days, and must be signed in with the same email address the invitation was sent to when they accept it. Only an Owner can invite another Owner.
Fine-tune one person's permissions
Roles are bundles of permissions. Open a member and you can grant or take away individual permissions on top of their role; for example, let a Staff member download donor lists, or stop an Admin from issuing refunds. Changing the role resets these adjustments. Owners can't be restricted, and nobody can grant a permission they don't hold themselves.
Removing someone
On the Team page, remove the person. Their access ends immediately; everything they did stays in the records and audit log. The last Owner can't be removed or demoted; make someone else an Owner first.
Who can see what
- Everyone on your team can see tickets your organization sent to DonorFinch support.
- The Audit log (Settings → Audit log) records who changed what; Owners, Admins and Finance can view it.
